What a blog slacker!

I am such a blog slacker....man, where does time go? Well, here are a few notable things that happened this week (good, bad, weird, funny, and otherwise)

- I was on the phone with a friend who was in town from Denver and we were discussing details for a specific event in February. He was on the way to the airport to catch his return flight and had pulled over to write something down....and someone ran into his rental car AND DROVE AWAY! What a not-Christmas-miracle event! So my friend started shouting he had to hang up, quickly called the police, and ended up filing a hit-and-run on his rental car. Ugh. Who does that? I felt so bad for him. Fortunately he was able to make his flight (barely), but texted me just before take-off to say he was not having happy thoughts about the people of Salt Lake. No kidding!

- Spent time with one or both sets of my grandparents literally every day this week, trying to help them prepare for Christmas. It was....well, let's leave it at calling it a "patience-building opportunity". I think this is God's way of compelling me to be patient.

- Made 4 dozen caramel/chocolate covered apples in preparation for Christmas. Wow! Didn't know I had that many friends..... :)

- Watched "White Christmas" again (while making apples today) - the old version with Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, and Danny Kaye. You know Christmas is here once I have watched that movie; I simply love it! I am going to see the Broadway show at PMT this week and I can hardly wait!

- Survived 18 meetings/appointments last week. While that's not necessarily a record for my schedule, it's notable during what is supposed to be a "less busy" time of the year. Whoa.

- Received a new filing cabinet in my office. This doesn't seem important, but I am so pleased with it. I have needed it for a long time and it will definitely enhance the cleanliness and organization of my office. What a beautiful thing.

- Had lunch with a dear friend at my favorite Thai restaurant to catch up on each others lives and it was so fun. I always enjoy opportunities to connect with friends and be able to pick right up where you left off....it's one of my favorite parts of the holiday season.

This week will be more prolific in blogging. Watch for updates!
