Out of balance

There are few phrases that bother me more than when people say their lives are "out of balance".  The truth is that we make time for what is most necessary in our perception - whether we want to or not.  I think when we say we're "out of balance", it's almost like we're giving ourselves an excuse to drop the ball on some things.

I am not picking on anyone in particular, only commenting on a phrase I have used MANY times myself, but then quickly remember that it's by choice that my life seems that way.

The new phrase I am choosing for this feeling is simply integration.  Rather than claiming to be "out of balance", I am now changing my perception to say that I am not effectively integrating the many pieces in my life.  While this may seem like a small or insignificant change, I believe it's more empowering to say that I am not integrating everything effectively - rather than simply claiming that there is a magical balance to be had.

There is no balance, there is simply a better fit to the way we integrate our lives.  Change is coming.
