Regardless, I finally decided it was time to have a new one, so I have replaced it with a funny, new-old piano that I absolutely adore. I found it on KSL Classifieds, and it has been "well-loved". Here are pictures of Mother and I testing it out in the home where it was previously being stored, but not played.
That was on a Sunday morning - and I decided I wanted it! My sweet Papa Sowb decided that he wanted to surprise me and paid for it directly. What a dear.
I called piano movers, and the very next morning (on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day), they showed up to move it for me at 7:00 a.m. Now that is excellent service! If anyone needs movers for a piano or any other furniture, I highly recommend them. Get in touch with me for more information.
They wrapped it carefully in a blanket, then tightly in plastic wrap, then strapped it to boards to help carry and slide. It looked great.
Then they took the turn and started heading down this guy's steps...and I knew that every penny I was paying to have it moved was money well-spent....
And then down his external, icy stairs...oh my....
To my external, icy stairs...(my shovel broke and I haven't replaced it - eek!)...
Through the door at Hudson...
And finally in its new home. Aaaahhh, in love in its new place, feeling the warmth and love, all cleaned up, oiled and receiving TLC from me. It has been tuned and is quickly becoming my new favorite possession and mechanism to deal with stress and emotion. It came at the perfect time.
Oh how I love my new piano. Thank you, thank you Mama and Papa Sowb for helping me make this happen.
