It's all relative

This sign is in front of a tree in the St. George Municipal airport. I think this sign typifies one of my biggest annoyances with people.

Everyone thinks they are busy - and yet, busy is relative. I have not slept more than 4-5 hours per night for the past 4 nights. Not by choice, but out of necessity because work /life has been so busy. I have run from place to place at neck-breaking speeds, fussing over far too many details, running my phone battery to nothing with phone calls, texts, emails, and google searches. In short - I'm busy. It's been a busy, high-stress week (as I blog standing in the airport security line).

But....my sweet grandma who will make one outing a week and considers it a "big day" if she puts make-up on, thinks she is too. I will say, "How is life, Grandma?" and she'll reply, "some days are busy".

Yes, I can see that going to your local grocery store for the obligatory 7 list items is a big ordeal....or not...

I think we all think we are all busy, but it is so relative that who ever really knows. I even hate the expression, because by saying it, you are almost implying that your listener is not.

Like, "I breath oxygen" or "I have necessary life-saving organs" or "I'm busy". They are all equally obvious.

Not sure why this is my soapbox today, but I must admit, I am so glad it's Friday at 7:18 and my flight is ready to come home. I am done.
