Radiothon fun!

On Thursday night my mom and I did our annual volunteering at the Primary Children's Medical Center Radiothon and spent from 8 pm until midnight answering phones...and entertaining ourselves with our camera phones when we got bored. :)This is the only photo I will be posting.....as the rest may have been a little silly, but honestly no one was calling after11 pm and we had to improvise to stay awake. lol

(http://whitbeckfamily.blogspot.com/2009/02/pcmc-radiothon-pics.html) Similarly to last year, Dan Pope was there, but this time he didn't look as darling so I think my Dan-Pope-weatherman-crush is officially over. Of course my mom had to tell Dan that I think he's darling while I was away getting soda....thanks gal - I appreciated that.

This year they raised $449,498 for charity care at PCMC during the 26 hour radiothon. My goodness! To put into perspective the 11 p.m. hour, we raised $2,100. That's it. Not just my mom and I....the entire room. You can see why we started goofing off! The only people calling at that hour were the truck drivers hauling loads in the middle of the night, listening to talk radio, calling from across the midwest. It was an interesting experience (since we normally do the 5-8 a.m. shift). Nonetheless, we were happy to participate and had a blast....if anyone is interested in helping next year, let me know and I can get you hooked up with the appropriate people. They can always use more volunteers.

Last night we spent the evening as a family with Grandpa Sowb celebrating his 75th birthday....and I am a dud that didn't even take my camera out of my purse! We will be doing another big celebration tomorrow so expect photos soon of the birthday boy.....and newly engaged TK and Jaree! Can't wait you two - love you both so much.
