Yesterday, in the midst of an incredibly busy and high-pressure morning, a little sparrow flew down the pipe on top of my home into my heater.
And got stuck.
Now add to this story that I was dog-sitting for a friend who was out of town.
So when the bird was stuck in the wall (heating duct)….flapping/squawking/freaking out….the dog could hear it. And was EQUALLY barking/squawking/freaking out…which upset the bird further, which upset the dog further….you get the idea. I was running a full Barnum and Bailey circus in my basement. No joke. In the midst of my own personal chaos of the day.
I finally left for about 12 hours for a charity event (lots more info about this soon), but when I arrived home, it was eerily quiet. The dog was laying on her bed and no noises were coming from the basement – nor have I heard any since that time. Either the sparrow has made its way out……or I am soon going to have a very special smell wafting through the heating vents in my home and a MAJOR meltdown….
