Old-fashioned mean

Yesterday I was struck by the meanness of another human, specifically a woman who is in my life sphere and possibly always will be.  What I found the most unusual about the situation (which shall not be described here - as I have too much social grace to detail this woman's atrocities on the internet, although I believe she deserves it...), is that this woman has no reason to treat me this way.

I never proclaim to be perfect (or, let's be honest, even great) at anything, but I can truthfully say that I have not injured this person in any known way.  Despite that, this self-proclaimed Christian decided to take me out at the knees yesterday.  In the past, there have been some sharp jabs and a few unkind actions, but this one beats them all – and hurt me more than I can say.

I expect this kind of nonsense from people I know I have wronged, but from someone who I have tried to support, consider her perspective (even when I vehemently disagreed with it), and appreciate the challenges she has experienced – that is simply unacceptable.

Good old-fashioned meanness from a woman who declares herself better.  Wow.
