I am in Washington DC with my mom for the Hydrocephalus Association to be part of a day of advocacy. I will post much, much more later but for now I just need to write down how anxious I feel.
Senator Hatch cancelled our meeting due to the Obamacare Supreme Court ruling at 10:00 EST today. We are instead meeting with his staffer.
Next is a meeting with Representative Jim Matheson. Himself. Not a staffer, the actual guy. Whoa.
Finally is a staffer for Senator Mike Lee (he was unavailable).
I am feeling very teary already, as this is a tender day for my family. Add to it the importance of this opportunity to tell my story - and the story of my state (as there aren't other hydro patients from Utah)....which means I am a little bit of a mess. Time to pull it together Sarah - this is one of those key days.
Wish me luck. And pray for no more tears.
