San Francisco - late January post

In January, I had the opportunity to spend 6 days in San Francisco for work and personal travel. It was great and had the chance to spend time with many friends, enjoying the city and a brief break from life. I forgot my camera so I only have a few photos....

Started in Walnut Creek, having lunch at a restaurant I went to with Jake and my mom (back when Jake and Jaimi lived in WC).
I realized as I was eating lunch that my dear friend Kristine lived in Walnut Creek (wahoo!) so I called her and she was able to meet up for some shopping and time catching up - and of course her darling baby! So good to see you Kris...what an unexpected joy!

Spent Tuesday evening with a friend from SF - and we went to the real Curran Theater for the opening night of "Next to Normal". It was incredible to be there, even though the show wasn't my favorite musical. What an experience!
My friend Arjun and I outside of the Curran after the show.

On Wednesday, I met up with Vanessa, as we were attending the same conference. Gal, I have missed you so much and had such a great time that week! Can't wait to do it again next year!
Denver was in town for a different conference, but timing worked out great....so we went down to the water front and checked out AT&T Park. As a true Yankee, my heart was not aflutter, but it was certainly an amazing stadium right on the pier.
On Saturday once the conference was finally over, it was time for the real work....and shoe shopping started....

Saturday evening included walking through China Town with a friend who flew in on Friday to visit. We had a great time - they were having a street fair and it was neat to see their version as we walked right down the main road.

Saturday evening dinner....we dined on the 3rd floor of Alioto's, which is on Pier 45, looking across the bay. My food wasn't delicious, but the atmosphere and company made it a spectacular evening.
It was a sunny 65-70 degrees almost the entire time we were there, which was much better than the cloudy, cold, mid-thirties that was going on in SLC. I also learned a great deal at the conference that should make me better at my job....and of course enjoyed the time with friends. Overall, a big thumbs up!
