I am helping answering the general line, as my secretary is still on maternity leave and the temp is at lunch. I was on a call just now and the woman was spelling an email address for me so I could send her some online materials.
She said (and I'm NOT kidding), "S like Sam, M like Mary, T like Tom", etc then finally "E like America". I stopped her and said, "Ma'am, is that A like America or E like Elephant?".
She paused and then said, "Oh that's right, America doesn't start with an E. I meant E like Elephant" and continued on as if nothing happened.
Oh boy.
this is the funniest thing I have heard all day and I workED on the bone phone
