Fill in the Blank Friday

This template is from my friend/cousin Sara's blog - so upon request I am filling it out too.1. The phrase or punctuation I overuse most is - the semicolon. I know I overuse semicolons in emails.

2. Today I am thankful for – my wonderful family, faith, friends that keep me sane in my frenetic life, education, dietCoke, my quirky old home, Vanilla Bean Crème Frappuccinos from Starbucks (my current obsession - and no Mom, don't panic, has no coffee in it), the ability to cope.

3. My best friend is - myself. This would not have been my response two years ago, but after my life changed, I quickly figured out that I needed to be my own best friend - and be comfortable with it.

4. A quirky thing about me is - oh my goodness...pick just one? There are so many quirky things about me! I would say one of the strangest things about me is that I can’t tie shoes without washing my hands after. Fortunately the only shoes I own that tie are my running shoes so it’s only once a day, but if I ever chose to have children someday, I suspect I would need to work on this quirky behavior because there appears to be quite a bit of shoe-tying as a mother and I don’t know that I could keep up with equal hand-washing.

5. This weekend I - have a great deal of work to do. I am feeling overwhelmed at work with some very big deadlines on Monday, but have most of my Saturday and Sunday planned during the day time, so I think it will mean Saturday and Sunday evenings are devoted to work/my office. Another Saturday evening with take-out in the office….wow, I lead a glamorous single life! :)

6. Something that worries me is - growing old gracefully. Some people do it well and die without injuring others. Some people do it terribly and hurt family relationships they have spent their whole lives building.

7. On my night stand you would find – a lamp, an iPod docking station, remotes for the television/DVD/cable, chapstick, lotion, journal and pen, scriptures, latest book I am reading, Sports Illustrated. (now that I am admitting this, I feel a little silly…..perhaps my nightstand is a little too full?) And that’s “Fill in the Blank Friday”.
