Payment for product

So I went to the salad-building place today in City Creek and the girl thought I said, “Cobb”, but I said, “Club”.  So she started building my salad and I was thinking, “It looks different than I remember from the last time I ordered it, but maybe I am confused” and I was also sending emails from my phone at the same time so I was not super paying attention.

When we finally got to the end, she tried putting the wrong dressing on, which was when we both realized the mistake.  She changed the dressing and then apologized for the mistake – but marked “Club” on the top.

When I reached the cashier, he looked at my ‘Club’ salad and realized there were non-Club items, he started charging me for all of the extra items.  I didn’t know what he was doing behind the register, but suddenly he was trying to charge me a great deal more than the normal.  I questioned him and he said, “You have extra items ma’am”.  I tried explaining the situation to him, but he kept insisting that there were extra items on my salad – which I already knew, thank you very much.  Lest anyone was concerned, I was aware there were extra items, but didn’t think I should be paying $1 for each of them, since it was his employee who clearly couldn’t hear.

He loudly announced (so others behind me could hear), “Okay ma’am, I’ll let you slide with extra items this one time, but next time you’ll need to pay for your complete salad”…..and I nearly reached over and slapped his face.  He made it sound like he was doing me a favor or something, which was absolutely not the case – or like I was trying to shirk the responsibility of paying for my salad.

Seriously.

Okay, now I’m over it.
