Old-person-cool

Tonight at our family party, my grandpa called me over to him and when I sat down we had the following conversation:

Grandpa: "Sarah, do you have a boyfriend yet?"
Me: "No Grandpa, not yet."
Grandpa: "Why not?  What's wrong with you?"
Me: (pause) "I love you Grandpa.  You're really cool."
Grandpa: (shrugs his shoulders) "Maybe soon."

Only old people can get away with stuff like that.  It's a special kind of old-person-cool that allows them to say ANYTHING without reserve.  Gotta love family events! :)
