78, 79,.....wait for it - 80!

My cute grandma turned 80 last week (as recently posted) so we had a big family party last night to celebrate her. When we have everyone, it includes 8 first generation, about 25 second generation, and about 20 third generation people.....if you're thinking, "big ol' Mormon family", you're right. Anyway, last night we were missing lots of people (darn it), but still had a great time. Those that weren't there were certainly missed, but those that attended enjoyed yummy food and a chance to celebrate a life well-lived for the last 80 years. (And heaven knows that woman is healthy.....she runs better than I do!)Some of the cute Thompson girls....The second generation (and one third generation) that attended the party....a small but faithful crew.My grandma with her kids and their spouses....my darling parents are on the back row - left side. I think they are adorable.
The birthday girl - making a wish!
I love being part of this legacy of women. These two are amazing and I hope I honor them in the way I conduct my life. If someone were to ask me in what ways I am different than my mom and grandma, I would like to be able to respond "in as few ways as possible".

  1. So sad I missed it! Jeremy had yet another ear infection, and 3 and a half hours in the car with a sick baby did not seem fun. Thanks for the pictures...they turned out darling. Love you lots.
