A little cake, a little mud

Last night I went out with a dear friend on a dichotomous date.....we started out in fancy clothes to attend the wedding of some mutual friends. We were wandering around before the wedding and saw their wedding cake....with the topper below.....This is not their actual cake - I didn't have my phone to get a picture, but I found this google image of the same cake topper. The funny part about this cake topper is that we both agreed that during the course of the wedding, it would be totally fitting/expected for the bride and groom to end up in this pose. Fortunately for the sake of their parents and children, it didn't happen. :)

Although it was different than most weddings I have attended (as they are blending their respective families - 2 kids + 3 kids), it was a nice ceremony, they seem very happy, and we are thrilled for them.

After that, we ran back to the house, changed clothes, and grabbed my friend's kids to hit the Super Cross at Rice-Eccles Stadium. It was awesome! Unfortunately it was pouring down rain so they cancelled a few races and we were literally soaked all the way through our clothes, but it was SO much fun. Here's a pic from my phone that shows the track....and you can kinda tell how messy/sloppy/rainy the track was at this point.
We wore heavy winter coats, beanies, and boots, but still pooped out before the end because we were so cold. Despite the weather, I totally loved my first live motor-cycle racing experience! I am now wishing I had a dirt bike of my own.....hahaha.
