- Change. I found out about 2 huge changes at work, literally within 24 hours of each other, and I am not really coping with either very well right now. Both will add a tremendous amount of pressure in my life (and of course more work...which I didn't think was possible, but alas it is) - and since I am clearly very selfish, it feels overwhelming to take on more. I am trying to be grateful for these changes because they will both bring the opportunity to reassess some processes and policies, which probably should have happened anyway. So, in the short term, it means my life is going to get much, much busier. But in the long run, it will mean more consistency, for which I am grateful.
- Brutal honesty. A very dear friend called today and was brutally honest about something he felt very strongly about in my life. Although it certainly stung and it was not a pleasant experience, I appreciate his concern for me and desire for me to be my best self.
- Cafe Rio. I am celebrating Cinco de Mayo with a chicken tostada.
- Rude people without social grace. Gives me a great example of who I DON'T want to emulate so I am grateful for their examples to teach me exactly who I don't want to be. I thought I was going to be forced to scratch someone's eyeballs out today. It was dicey for awhile.
- dietCoke/diet Dr. Pepper. Delicious elixirs.
- Text messages. I received some today that were really easy to ignore - and I appreciate this technology because there's always the standard fallback, "I didn't get a text from you", which could easily be true and saves your can in many situations.
- Caller ID. To quickly avoid the people calling today that I didn't want to speak to....after I had ignored their texts. You know, if you sent a girl multiple texts AND called her and she still didn't respond - wouldn't you give up? Let's hope.
- The Laker victory last night. Now they're getting a false sense of security being up 2 games on us and we've got them right where we want to take the series.....grrr....good grief Jazz. Get it together.
- Tropical Starburst.
- Conferences that start at 6:30, requiring me to arrive at the hospital at 5:30 a.m. (after watching the Jazz lose late the night before). It allows me to have really sexy bags under my eyes all day long. You can't fake this kind of look - or even create it if you try. You either have it or you don't. And don't worry, today I have it.
