Weekend recap and Garden Tour (5.31)

My weekend included the following:
- On Friday, an old friend came to have lunch with me and gave me the Dorothy/Toto Jim Shore figure shown below to remind me I can always "find my way home". What a sweetheart - and exactly what I needed. I must admit, he knows I have been feeling lost (dealing with some health issues, family issues, and work issues lately), so this was a perfect present. It is proudly on my desk!- A day trip with a dear friend to his cabin with his immediate and extended family, for delicious food, motorcycle riding, board games, outside games, leisure time, campfire/marshmallows, and in general, simply a much needed break from life. We had such a wonderful time. The cabin is in Woodland, Utah - right by Kamas, Utah for those familiar with the area (about an hour from Salt Lake). It is such a beautiful area, right on the river so I took a book and left everything else from home behind. (picture below)- Relatively little work. I brought home literally a dozen projects but I just couldn't face them this weekend. Everything has been so busy and I have felt terribly overwhelmed from it all so I thought I would "use the weekend to catch up" and instead I hardly thought about work. I will probably regret this decision as I stress throughout the week.
- Gardening! Salt Lake finally had beautiful weather so I was able to dig in the dirt and plant more of my garden. I love to dig in the dirt. (pictures below)- Swim and BBQ with my family on Monday evening. It was a great opportunity to see most of the family and have a relaxing evening together.

I promise I didn't forget to do my Thankful Thursday post, but decided I would simply wait until this week. I am grateful for a great deal. Happy Memorial Day!

  1. Wow! What a beautiful cabin spot...I miss all those summer time activities I use to do before I moved to neverending snow (thanks Idaho.) I am glad you had a good weekend. Love ya lots. Oh, and Eliza says she likes your Dorothy and Toto...she and Hunter were just in a production of the Wizard of Oz.:)
