Last night I had to make a late night run to Harmon's for a few salad dressing ingredients. While standing in line with my specialty vinegar, a man (who looked approximately 50) came to stand beside me wearing the following:
- a black leotard
- a faux-fur leopard print top hat
- a black dress coat
- mid-calf army boots - laced all the way up
As I waited for my turn to check-out, my mind was racing....
- I was in hospital pants and a long-sleeve t-shirt and still cold.....how was he not freezing without pants?
- Didn't anyone ever teach him that "too much eyeliner" does exist?
- Where did he find such a fantastic hat?
- Where did he come from and where was he going?
- Was is appropriate to ask if I could take a picture for my blog?
Finally I checked out and since he only had one item, he pretty much followed right behind me out the door. As I got in my car, he unhooked his bike from the rack. I couldn't help but shrug my shoulders and literally say out loud, "That fits". When I told Shanna about it today, she pointed out it could only have improved if he had been on a unicycle - and I agree.
It was awesome. This is the caliber of people you will find at 11:45 p.m. at the Brickyard Harmon's.
Today was a day I won't soon forget. Details to follow later.
I'm thankful you didn't recognize me. ;)
