There is only one "c" in "especially".
I heard a very highly educated physician in a meeting today use the word, "ecspecially".
I was so disgusted (and offended) by her heinous diction that I almost crawled across the board room table and beat her with my shoe.
Fortunately for her, I was wearing my pearl-colored heels and they're too cute to be used as a weapon. Had I been wearing less fantastic shoes, she'd be toast.
Wait a minute..... How do you know it wasn't an x??
ReplyDeleteArgh. This is my pet peeve as well. But what really gets to me is Expresso. Like it is the car. Dodge Neon Expresso is not a drink, people. And the past tense of squeeze is not sqooze.
