Thankful Thursday

Things I'm thankful for today:
- The woman at Costco tonight who asked her child, "Is it funner in the car or inside Costco?". I would contend that it is neither "funner" in the car nor in Costco - although it may be MORE FUN in one or the other. Thank you for reassuring me that I'm smarter than some people.
- The girl at Costco tonight rocking a side pony and a t-shirt that said, "Backstreet's Back" with pics of each boy - uh, I mean man-posing-as-a-"boy". Thank you for reassuring me I was not the worst-dressed person in Costco.
- Stella, as she felt the need to randomly poop in the house twice while I was at work today. You would think she is house-trained. So did I. Apparently after three years she forgot today. Thank you for teaching me that old dogs can't even remember old tricks, let alone learn new ones.
- A neighbor of mine that decided to help me lift a table in my backyard tonight. He had his bare-chested beer belly proudly hanging out but despite my attempts to defer the help, he kept insisting and finally just picked it up. He then told me that it helped him "release testosterone". I would prefer to not be anywhere within the vicinity while he is releasing anything. Thank you for giving me an awkward moment during which I could practice my social grace skills.
- A boy that isn't getting the hint about me turning down his every date request via text. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to practice my creativity skills, as the reasons I can't make it get more outlandish and bizarre every time. (**as a side note, I might try the honest answer of "not interested" soon, but you would think, 'busy big game hunting in Africa this weekend' would do the trick)
- This time of being exceptionally short-staffed. By the time I am fully staffed again, it will feel like we have loads of usable work hours in every week. Thank you for the drought so normalcy will feel like a flood.

This is the best I've got today - or actually at all this week. I'm going to turn the beat around (shout to you Cari-doll) and have something better to be thankful for very soon.

  1. Absolutely hilarious. I could hear the sarcasm through my computer. Man...I need to go to your Costco sometime...sounds more FUNNER than ours!
