And then there was ONE

Congratulations to the Alabama Crimson Tide - aka the National Champions! In Sara's honor, I faithfully cheer for them (well, in every game except last year's Sugar Bowl of course) and have told her I consider myself a little Ute girl who has been adopted as a Bama Belle.

Even if Colt had not sustained the injury so quickly, I think the outcome and score would've been the same. I was arguing this with someone at work on Friday and felt obligated to point out that Texas barely squeaked by Nebraska on a FIELD GOAL to get in the title game. Alabama beat Gators....excuse me, the Florida Gators - as in the previous national champions, to get in. Now I can admit Nebraska's program has demonstrated tremendous success in the past (operative word here is "has"....as is "has been"), but the SEC title game was indisputable. Oh, and to those who were concerned about the "Heisman Curse" - yeah, I don't think that turned out to be a problem. :)

And although I don't have a crush on Nick Saban like I do Urban Meyer, I must admit, he is also a good looking older fella too!
Now that college football is over, I admit I am a little bummed. On Thursday night after the game, I was at the house sorting some boxes and told Alex that it feels like Christmas night after you've opened all of your presents and finished all of the parties. You had a great time and appreciated it, but you're sad to see it all over. I am always sad when a sports season ends....no more College Game Day for how many months?! And with the NFL wrapping up in the next few weeks, it is almost time to wave good-bye to football entirely. Sigh.....it's been a good season.
And for my non-football-lovin'-girlfriends reading this post.....who inevitably are thinking, "thank heaven because I'll get my husband back and Sarah will shut up about it on her blog" - don't worry, NBA and college hoops are in full swing and the MLB is right around the corner. There's so much more to come! ;)
