Doing my part

Today I went shopping for a new pair of jeans and maybe a new top or something......which turned into 2 pairs of ridiculously fun jeans, a pair of winter-white dress slacks (still not sure if I'm cute/confident enough to make these fly - we'll see....), and a new black sweater (courtesy of Lucky Jeans and Ann Taylor). So far so good.....

Then, I decided to keep shopping a little longer because I wanted a new scarf and my sister-in-law Jaimi found some cool scarves at WorldMarket for Christmas. What started as an excursion for a $10 scarf quickly got out of control.....but I maintain that I was simply doing my part to help the economy. :)

They happen to be having a furniture sale....and I happen to be short approximately half of a houseful of furniture (read between the lines)....so although I didn't find a scarf, I did find a new pub-height espresso-brown wooden kitchen table and 4 tall stools (super trendy, but it fits the kitchen for now and is cute enough for today's purposes so when I am tired of it, I can get rid of it without remorse), a new black wooden computer desk, 3 matching book shelves (1 tall and skinny, 2 short and squatty), a matching filing cabinet, a darling matching desk chair (although it's wooden, the girl at the store said "no cushion is needed".....however, I am afraid my bottom will be sore after 5 minutes so I'll reassess that situation after it's put together and I try it out), and finally a new red leather accent chair for the living room (that happens to match my red leather PB pillows perfectly....I love the chair almost as much as my pillows - it will be a fantastic reading chair).

Three car loads of furniture later, I am elated with my new purchases....and I can sleep peacefully tonight knowing I was a socially responsible citizen by trying to stimulate the economy out of recession. hahaha....I love my own justifications...they make me laugh.

Once things are set up, I'll snap some photos and post. Y'all can thank me any time for trying to generate economy growth.... ;)

  2. This post made me laugh... it sounds like my Christmas shopping. Start out with the intention of buying gifts for others... leave with multiple bags filled with darling items all for me!
