Happy New Year! I am praying for a wonderful 2010....with less stress, more laughter, and better balance in my life. I take goal-setting pretty seriously, so I have 8 categories of goals (home, church, family, work, personal, etc), and then set 70%, 100%, and 130% goals in each category.
The 70% goals should be achievable....not easy, but certainly possible. The 100% goals should stretch me, but with dedicated work, might be possible. The 130% goals are basically impossible but good to write down just in case I'm especially ambitious. Plus, it gives me a good ideal to shoot for just in case.
(And for those of you rolling your eyes and thinking, "nut hut" - remind yourself that there are 24 usable hours in everyday and it's up to you how to use each one)
Moving along....today I went with my parents to the Allred's (my aunt and uncle) cabin. This time of year it is only accessible via snowmobile and 4-wheeler so we park the cars at the garages/base camp, pack everything in the little sled you see in this photo, hop on the snow mobiles (or in the little sleigh you can see in the other picture), and head up for football, food, and family. It was exactly what I needed today!
Three of Allred's boys were there, 2 brought their wives(....although Sara was there in heart, I missed her terribly....love you gal), and one of their grandsons. It was a blast! During half time of one of the bowl games we went out to watch Beckham (15 month) check out sledding for the first time and he was totally enthralled. It was darling to watch his little face get so excited as they zoomed down the hill. He has a doll face!

Oh....what cute little parents I have.....they are simply adorable!

It was the perfect way to ring in the New Year.....well, that and Urban's HUGE win over Cincinnati. Surely he needs me to congratulate him in person - right?! Yes, I think so. Time to book a ticket to Gainsville and kiss that darling Urban Meyer. :) hahaha
Speaking of bowls, so far my bowl-ing has gone well. Of course Utah winning was perfect, USC last week, LSU losing (which always makes me thrilled - they are the only team I hate worse than BYU....and it's all because of their arrogant and waste-of-space coach, Les Miles), great Buckeye win today, and Gator-Nation tonight. Now I am pulling for a big wins out of TCU and Alabama (on Monday and Thursday, respectively). Wow - what a great time of year!
Love the new blog. Glad you had a good Christmas! Hope to see you soon.
